Rosetta stone really is not worth it. a good thing to do is find german speakers to talk with and try to read german literature. im learning german and i just bought the german newspaper yesterday and i talk to my german landlady.. Hey, i've always wanted to learn german as a second language. part of my heritage is german i'll also add. i want to study university in germany in 2015, so 2 years should be enough to give me a good understanding of it.. Best answer: it depends on your reasons for learning a foreign language, and also where you live. i studied german in high school, then got a bachelors degree in it, because i wanted to do something different from what most people do..
The best way to learn german with a book, is probably a regular local school book for german classes. what if you don't get her a book that actually teaches german, but a book that she might have had as a kid in germany?. I have learnt german as i have lived over here on and off for 20 years, because of my job in the british army, and sweetie p your talking crap, majority of the germans i have met are quite friendly and like the fact you have bothered to learn their language... Best answer: yes, you can. they are quite different language, so you won't mix them up. all the same, you might want to keep a strict routine - french in the morning, german in the evening, or french on mondays, german on wednesdays..
